Like the Resource Builder, the Profile builder divides the screen into 2 panes:

• The left pane which has a 'navigator' view of the resource being profiled. (Unlike the resource builder, 'child' elements are shown in-line rather than being broken out to a separate list)
• The right pane which is the detail for the selected element.

The image below shows the Profile Builder after the Basic resource has been selected, and also after the 'Show Full Definition' button has been clicked. This shows the complete profile in the right pane - with the text element removed (as it can be quite voluminous, and not helpful in this context)

You can also show the details for a specific element by clicking on its name in the 'path' column.

The buttons on the tool bar are:

• Find Extension. This will load a dialog that allows you to choose an existing extension to add to your profile (Always the best option if possible!)
• New Extension. This loads a dialog that allows you to create and save a new extension.
• Save. Saves the new profile.
• A qustion mark icon. This will display brief help instructions - you can always load this guide from the gear icon to the upper right.
